How to reassemble door panel?

I took off one of my door panels in order to lubricate the locking mechanism which was sticking. That seemed to work well, however in the process of getting to it I destroyed and ripped off nearly every clip. I'm not terribly impressed by Volvo's door panel construction.

Basically I've got 2 issues:

-The clips on the doors are ripped off.
-Some pieces of the inside material are detached from the panel.

So what's the best way to get it all together? I know where the clips go, but would a good glob of super glue do the trick here?

Also, a side question... is replacing the door lock relatively easy? Looks like it just unplugs, then take out a few screws and it's free. Am I right or is it more of an adventure than that?

Same thing happened to me.
I use clear silicone caulk (hardware store has it), give it one hour to set and re-assemble things.

Ok, thanks! You think that would be a stronger, more permanent solution that super glue or something?

I also need to go get a bunch more of those white clips I destroyed. Why do they cost $1.85 each? :x Must be like an 800% markup.

Silicone is:
- soft
- pliable
- handles cold and hot weather very well (that is why it is used for caulking windows)

Re clips, Yeah I know, just suck it up and get it done.

There are seveal differnt styles of "Panel Poppers"
and this one is cheap and effective.
Right tool and all that.

Super glue is too brittle, you may be better with one of those "foaming" poly glues like Gorilla Glue. You have to clamp your pieces while the glue sets to make sure they don't go anywhere.

Oh and rough up the mating sides a little bit before you glue.

+1 on the clamps. Mine has lasted solid since last year so far. If I can remember to check tonight I will post the type glue I used.

I had luck picking up some of the plastic "clips" for next to nothing at a local pick-n-pull.......

Thanks for the tips everyone. I went out and bought two things... some silicone as was suggested, and then some expanding Gorilla glue for clamping. The silicon sets much faster, but both seem to work very well.

I'll definitely need to invest in one of those panel poppers!

Also, if anyone knows...

A side question... is replacing the door lock relatively easy? Looks like it just unplugs, then take out a few screws and it's free. Am I right or is it more of an adventure than that?
